Retreat at the ashram, July 6–12 2026
You are invited to a retreat at the Szólád Yoga Ashram that promises complete rejuvenation and relaxation. Spend a week in the ashram’s peaceful and serene environment, and experience how the lifestyle promoted by yoga is relaxed yet dynamic, complex in its effects yet simple, and how daily activities refresh rather than drain you. The daily schedule follows the complete system taught by the Satyananda system of Yoga, which includes the techniques of yoga branches such as hatha, raja, karma, bhakti, jnana, and mantra yoga. The program is led by sannyasins who are yoga teachers with exceptional experience—Swami Maitreyi, Swami Omgyanam, and Swami Mudraroopa—who have spent decades at the tradition’s headquarters in India.
“Yogic lifestyle does not depend on how many hours you spend practicing yoga and meditating. That is irrelevant. Yogic lifestyle is a harmonious and righteous way of life.”
Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati

We look forward to seeing you!
We are very happy to announce that the most significant undertaking in the development of Ashram has begun. The Hungarian Yoga Association’s ashram has been developed from donations of the Hungarian and international Satyananda Yoga community since 2006. Over the past years we have received countless selfless donations, ranging from a few Euros to tens of thousands, and now now we once again ask the members of the community for help. After detailed planning and thorough preparation, in 2021 we began constructing the main building, a two-storey house with over 900 square meters of usable floor space, which will enable us to offer programs all year and provide home for those interested in the yogic lifestyle. The foundations and the supporting structure are already complete. The next phase, the masonry and concrete slab, which cost nearly € 45,000 – will require additional funding. Therefore, we ask all those who have the will and means to contribute to the development of the ashram to support the construction with a donation. Thank you in advance!
We invite you to yoga classes conducted in English at our beautiful downtown yoga center. Taking up yoga is one of the single most effective ways to improve your sense of wellbeing. As there are many types of Yoga it’s important to choose the right type for you. We teach Satyananda Yoga. It’s world renowned for its systematic approach. It is the type of Yoga that doctors and physiotherapists recommend.
The central part of this seminar will be a thorough introduction to the ancient meditation technique of Ajapa Japa. In Ajapa Japa the breath is utilized in combination with inner visualisation and silent mantra repetition. This leads to an awakening of prana (energy) stabilizing and concentrating the mind and bringing it into stillness.
